Purpose: To understand better
how we ought to live in this world and
how we live our lives has eternal implications

The wordless book begins with the color black to show us the sinful nature of our hearts.

The color black is also a symbol of our broken relationship with God because of sin.

Once man in the form of Adam walked and communed with God but because of the sin of Adam and Eve mans relationship with God was broken and in need of repair

Because He loved us God did not want to leave us in the sorry state we were in, separated from our creator, destined for eternal punishment.
God had a plan one day he would send the one who would crush the head of the serpent (Satan).  That person in the form of God’s own son would be the one to take our punishment.

The color red in the wordless book is there to show us the only way we can restore the relationship with God is through the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.

The color red should also make us realize the need for us to be better witnesses of that which we know that everyone has the same need, to come to the full knowledge of who Jesus is and what it means to be washed in the blood of the Lamb

The white page in the wordless book reminds us of our rebirth as a new man or woman

Behold the old is Gone the new has come.

With the new life comes the need to carry on the work of the Lord and be His witnesses to the ends of the earth.

The white page also reminds us in order to be an effective witness we must use the model of love and servitude to our fellow man that Jesus left for us in the Gospels.  The white page also carries with it the full knowledge that at all times salvation is found in

Nothing less then Jesus blood and Righteousness

Not by works lest any man boast

The green page reminds that we must
focus on Jesus every day of our life.

If we don’t we will be like Peter walking on the water, the moment he took His eyes off of Jesus he began to sink.  When you think about Peter only took his eyes off of Jesus for one second and look at the trouble he got into.  The green page should also make us think about the consequences of not living our lives focusing on Jesus, like Peter we will be going down for the count the problem is unlike Peter how many people are going to be around to watch us sink.  It only takes a moment of indiscretion to ruin a lifetime of witness

This brings us to the gold page in the wordless book.

The gold page is usually used to symbolize the day that our earthly journey ends and we come to stand before our Creator.  I think the gold page should also be a reminder to us that everything we do here on earth has eternal applications.  The life we choose to live as a Christian whether it be a fruitful on or not will determine where we stand eternally.  No man can loose his or her salvation but because of a bad witness they may loose salvation for someone else.  Think of every person you come in contact with, if only you had said as much about Jesus to him or her as you did other trivial matters…  I am purposely leaving the last sentence unfinished so you can fill in the last few words about how you have lived your life for the Lord.

The gold page is our ultimate goal so live each day as if you were going home to
