In the Black Page we talked about how you have two choices
You can ignore the call to go forth as a witness for various reasons none
of which hold water
Or
your second and wisest choice is to Say
to yourself God is Faithful! He will give me the words to say and the courage to say them.
It’s true some people might be better
endowed with a gift of gab then you but witnessing is more then talking it’s living the truth.
So don’t
worry about the consequences of giving your testimony, just tell the truth God will do the rest.
In the end
Jesus
said he will make you a fisher of men
And as A Christian
Jesus said to go and do it.
With this in mind
we need to understand a few things about witnessing and I feel the wordless book can help better then any other tool in getting
a simple message across to others, because that is what the Gospel is a simple message that we as Christians complicate more
than it should be.
The central theme of the red page can be summed up in 3 words
Focus on Jesus
This means that you need to lead the person to the saving knowledge of what our Lord
and Savior did for us on the cross.
This is the point in witnessing where a lot of people become afraid that they will
not know what words to say or how to say them
Proverbs 11:30 says
He who wins souls is wise
The problem is that most people try to rely on there own wisdom
to win others to the Lord. This put an assumption on the fact that it is us who will bring others to the Lord
This
type of thinking is faulty because the Lord does not really need us to do spread His Gospel. He could have the
rocks cry out the Good News if he wanted to.
But The Lord doesn’t let the rocks cry out His salvation
message, the Lord chooses us to spread His word
And if chooses us He will not only give us the power to do His
work, but He will also give us the words to do it with.
There are many variations of How to Present the Gospel message
for some ideas click here
But remember that all these messages do one thing they
Focus On Jesus When you proclaim His message
Oh Yeah! Remember your ABC’s
A
Ask others to pray for you and your witness and always pray without ceasing for God to grant you the words you need.
Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:19
Pray
for me that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me….
B Be a Fool for Jesus. Be prepared for people to mock
you and make fun of you. Call you a fool or freak, but in the end remember
We are fools for Jesus, 1 Corinthians 4:10
C Conduct yourself in such a way
as to please God not other people for the Bible tells us that:
We must obey God not people, Acts 5:29
D Develop a positive attitude Don’t
worry about what you can’t do and what you can’t say. The Bible tells us that
We say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me, Hebrews 13:6
Look also to these verses
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests
to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus,
Philippians 4:6-7
Humble yourselves,
therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for
you, 1 Peter 5:6-7
E
Effectiveness
Remember if you are afraid of one on one interaction and effective message does not always have to be
face to face. You can send a letter or and email. Create a website or any other way you can think of to get the Gospel
to others.
The Bible says in Philippians 4 that
All things work to the good
So whatever method you choose to deliver the message God will use it to His glory
I would like to close
out the Red page with theses words
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting
consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work, 2 Thes.
2:16-17
