To define the Spiritual world and how it relates to our holiness

What does the spirit world have to do with our holiness?

 

  1. God is spirit and God is Holy.

1.) Read Psalm 89:5-8 and Psalm 33:5, Psalm 148:2-6

Where is God and how can we partake of a relationship with Him?

2.) Read 1 Peter 2:9-10, Romans 3:23-26, Romans 81:1-17

What is Holiness according to these verses?

3.) Read 1Peter 1:10-12, Roman 8:16, John 4:23-24

What makes up the spirit world?

 

  1. Rebellion leads to a lack of holiness

It is a spirit being who tempts us and entices us to sin.

1.)    Read Ezekiel 28:13 

The purpose of Satan is what?

2.) Read 2 Corinthians 11:12-15, Ephesians 4:25-27

Who helps us to carry out our purpose?

 

C.     Believers are commanded to stand against this evil spirit world

   1.) Read Romans 8:37-39, 2 Thes 3:3 and 1Peter 1:3-7

   Why is it important for us to recognize where our strength comes from?

   What is the whole point of trials and tests?

 

D.    It is in our spirit that we can develop our true nature

   1.) Read Romans 8:1-17

    What nature do you live by and will it measure up to God’s examination?

   2.) Read Hebrews 10:10

    What Sacrifices have you made for the cause of the Gospel?

   3.) Read 2 Peter 3:3-4 

    Who do you look like?

 

E.     Sanctification or holy living comes is progressively realized in the work of the Holy Spirit?

  1.) Read 2 Corinthians 6:14

  What does it mean to be yoked with unbelievers and why are we to separate ourselves from worldly actions?

  2.) Read Titus2: 11-14

  To walk with God is to want to be?

 

 

 

In closing: We as believers must encourage one another to live righteous, holy lives and must realize that the war against holiness is a spiritual  battle that must be waged continue through prayer and repentance to break the grip that Satan has us and to allow the Holy Spirit to give us strength and guidance

 

We cannot hope to do it alone we must look to God and his holiness
